Southampton Wedges - Neighbor's Naturescaping - Milkweed for Monarchs
The Southampton Wedges consist of four public gardens we volunteer our time in to assist with planting, maintenance, and ongoing neighborhood beautification efforts. The Hampton Wedge garden pictured here started with a design proposal and grant application to the Neighbor's Naturescaping program through Brightside St. Louis in Summer 2014. Planted in Fall 2014 the garden focuses mainly on the Milkweed for Monarchs The St. Louis Butterfly Project plant list. The above photos show what the garden space looked like before planting in 2014. Below you can find the planting in Fall 2014 and what the garden looked like in Summer 2016. Updated with photos from 2017-18 below in varying seasons! Below you can also find photos of Marie’s Wedge - another of the neighborhood wedges we have spent some time in and donated materials toward the creation of a rain garden inflow project in 2018. We work alongside an existing network of neighbors and volunteers committed to these projects.
